SUMMATION

Shantel Perreal is a certified Equine Therapist who was raised around horses and cattle in High Prairie, Northern Alberta.

Armed with the knowledge of 5 generations of great horsemanship in her large and loving family, Shantel earned many awards and much praise for her talents with horses both in and out of the show ring. Her background and achievements helped to jump start her career as a horse trainer.

It was during this time that Shantel noticed a link missing in some of these “problem” horses sent to her. She discovered that their personalities and actions did not match their problems and reactions. This caused her to search for NEW answers.

By first starting out with human nature and anatomy, Shantel earned her diploma Bsc, then massage therapy & rehabilitation. Fascinated by what she was discovering, she broadened her education and certifications to include homeopathy, herbology, acupuncture, and chiropractics. Shantel has the unique ability to cross over and apply this knowledge to horses as well.

Always eager for more knowledge, Shantel continued to take classes wherever she could find them that would aid in her study. It was during one of these classes in Calgary that the word Osteopathy tickled Shantel’s ear. Upon further digging she KNEW she had found what she was looking for!

Shantel embarked upon 4 grueling years of study including Anatomy, Physiology, Neurology, Visceral, Myology, & Cranial Sacral, and has completed her Equine Osetopathy in Texas. Shantel took the final exam and received a diploma in equine osteopathy therapy in Australia. Shantel also received equine and canine acupuncture in Australia. She not only found the previously missing connection between the “behavioural” problems and actions, she now had the skills necessary to FIX them! Shantel finds herself traveling all over Canada and world, helping where ever she can.

Shantel surrounded herself with a team of specialists who shared her constant craving for knowledge & quest for answers; like Janus Marque the U.S. Olympic Jump Team Equine Physio Therapist, and Helen Smith from HEC from Australia.

Fueled by the desire to share these findings with others, they are not only changing the way people interpret their horse’s behaviour and actions, they are also helping to change the way horses view their owners, their jobs, and the overall happiness of their life .

Shantel is now taking on horses at Canadian Equine Therapy Institute for Rehabilitation. A combination of Osteotherapy, proper nutrition and exercise will bring your horse from lameness to health.
